Innsbruck City Centre Hotels
From the top down, Innsbruck hotels include many excellent and charming four- and three-star hotels. Worthy of note in particular are the 4-star Hotel Grauer Bär and the 4-star Hotel Schwarzer Adler Innsbruck both close to the historic Altstadt. Also the charming 3-star Hotel Weisses Rössl, family run since 1410 in the City’s pedestrian zone, and the 4-star Hotel Sailer, a few minutes walk from the Altstadt and featuring surprisingly modern interiors.
Also in the centre, you have the famous 4-star Hotel Café Central and, right in the heart of the Altstadt, both the 3-star Hotel Weisses Kreuz and the 4-star Hotel Maximilian Stadthaus Penz with striking modern interiors. Just out of the central city area near the Olympiaworld stadium and winning our prize for the most striking bit of modern architecture is the 3-star superior Hotel Ramada Innsbruck, with 159 rooms over 12 storeys.
At the other end of the scale is Nala Individuell Hotel, Innsbruck’s newest and most stylish boutique hotel with just 45 rooms. Two more very modern 4-star hotels both near the Altstadt and offering contemporary luxury are the business-oriented Austria Trend Hotel Congress Innsbruck and the 4-star Penz Hotel, which combines Tyrolean hospitality with striking urban architecture. Best Western provides efficient and comfortable branded 4-star hotels at three different locations in Innsbruck – the Hotel Mondschein, the Hotel Goldener Adler and the Hotel Leipziger Hof.

Innsbruck Olympia SkiWorld Holiday Villages
There is quite a good spread of accommodation options around the villages so it is probably best to decide which village you want to be in first from an activity perspective.
Some hotels of note in the villages include the 4-star Hotel Schlösselhof and the 3-star Hotel Kögele in Axams Axamer Lizum. Also a number of good 4-star hotels in Igls are the Hotel Eagles Astoria, the Parkhotel Igls, the Hotel Römerhof, the Sporthotel Igls. In Mutters the 4-star Hotel Sonnhof and the 4-star Hotel Seppl both stand out.
Up in Kühtai there is generally a more prosaic offering of package tour hotels but worthy of note are the 4-star Konradin and, both with 3-stars and family-run, Hotel Kristall and Alpenhotel Seiler. Or for something completely different, outstanding and charming – the Hotel Jagdschloss, former hunting lodge of the emperors and still owned by the Stollenberg family. Kühtai also has some very good and smart modern apartment options, increasingly attractive to family skiers, notably the 4-star Alpinlodges Kühtai and the 4-star Dorfstadls Landhaus.
Where to Stay in Innsbruck?
The most important question facing any traveller is where to stay and that question warrants a little more thought than usual if visiting Innsbruck to ski and the Olympia Ski Region. While the ski bus service around the whole of Innsbruck and the Olympia Ski Region is very good, a family with young children learning to ski would likely prefer to stay in one of Innsbruck’s satellite villages with ski lifts nearby. If, on the other hand, you are keen to explore the delightful city Innsbruck and to enjoy some great skiing on the side, we recommend staying in a city centre hotel is a great option and allows you to commute to whichever surrounding ski area takes your fancy when it suits you.
