Getting to Northstar

Northstar is located halfway between Truckee and the north shore of Lake Tahoe. The nearest airport is Reno-Tahoe, about 45 minutes’ drive away in good conditions.

Truckee is 6 miles (9.6 km) away, on Highway 267. The nearest international airports are Reno/Tahoe, Sacramento, and San Francisco. Via Interstate 80, Reno is 40 miles (64 km) east (45 minutes), Sacramento is 110 miles (177 km) west (1 hour 45 minutes), and San Francisco is 195 miles (314 km) west (3 hours 30 minutes).

Airport transfers to Northstar

To arrange a transfer from Reno/Tahoe International Airport, the resort recommends North Lake Tahoe Express which has a year-round, scheduled service between Reno-Tahoe International Airport and the North Lake Tahoe-Truckee region, with local transit connections (phone: 866-216-5222). Other providers are Executive Limo (800-323-3958) or Tahoe Truckee Taxi (888-881-TAXI).

Alternatively, you can rent a car, which will make it easier to explore the other Lake Tahoe resorts.

Getting to Northstar by bus and train

Amtrak (www.amtrak.com) has rail services and Greyhound (www.greyhound.com) has bus services to Truckee from where there are shuttles to Northstar.
