Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek ski resort may be only 20 minutes from the bright lights and crowds of Vail, but it’s a world away. Beaver Creek’s slogan, “Not Exactly Roughing It”, couldn’t be more apt or more appreciated by the upscale clientele who flock to Beaver Creek en masse to experience some of the best service and luxury accommodations in North America.

The Beaver Creek experience is one of a kind, where there is never a shortage of fine amenities and first-class service. Some mountains are made for skiing and others are made to be resorts; but unlike some other posh resorts’ whose skiing will leave you heading for the hot tub early, Beaver Creek is for serious skiers. That is not to say, however, that Beaver Creek’s posh reputation is undeserved. From the moment you arrive, first-class service will attend to every conceivable need—pantry services, ski concierge, equipment rentals, and private ski instruction, just to name a few.

Once you leave your the comfort of your hotel, the first-rate service continues on the slopes where impeccably groomed ski terrain and a modern ski lift network await. Getting around Beaver Creek’s ski area is easy using strategically-positioned lifts which allow skiers and riders of all abilities to ride many of the lifts together, which is a real plus for families and mixed ability groups.

Comparisons are inevitably drawn to other chic destinations such as Aspen or Deer Valley, but Beaver Creek is unique. Beaver Creek is far more relaxed and unpretentious. If you’re looking for glitz and glam, go elsewhere. The clientele here is no less moneyed, but tends to be more discreet.  In fact, Beaver Creek has long been a sanctuary for the rich and famous looking to escape to anonymity. President Ford built a house here in the 1980’s and privacy-conscious celebs have been following ever since. In Aspen, you go to be seen. In Beaver Creek you go to disappear.
