Learn to Ski in Fernie

The Fernie Alpine Resort Winter Sports School is located at the base of the resort. The offices are open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Fernie Ski Schools

For all ages and abilities there are lessons from certified instructors offering professional instruction in alpine skiing, boarding, telemarking ,and cross-country, from group lessons to specialty clinics and one-hour to full-day private lessons. The ski school also offers special adult programs, men’s clinics, women’s clinics, kids’ weekend clubs, and camps in both skiing and snowboarding.

Group lessons are limited to 10 people and children must be five years old and above for the ski school groups (supervised lunch included). The Resort Kids’ Daycare operates lessons for three- and four-year-olds.

Fernie Mountain Guides

Mountain Pursuits is a fully certified company that offers backcountry tours, for which Fernie is recommended. Professionally guided day trips or overnight camps discover the best-kept secret powder stashes in the region. Tours are for a minimum of two people and group rates are available for groups of six people or more. The First Tracks Program lets you access fantastic powder before anyone else.
