Quite small (just ten rooms), very chic and quite unusual, Das Georg is a genuine boutique hotel and, in that way, fills a nice niche in Lech’s deluxe hospitality offering. Traditional from the outside, you quickly move into a comfortable and cosy country house interior, which is finished with some big colours and quirky selected artwork and furniture. All done with an expert eye, and the resulting creation is most pleasing.

A buffet breakfast is served in the freshly appointed dining room, all panelled in pale pine, white tablecloths and grey fabrics offsetting the furniture. This is a garni hotel, unusual in a 4-star, but the Georg does serve early evening snacks. A short walk to the centre of Lech and the lifts, there are plenty of top eating options available.

The delightful rooms are individually appointed and are very comfy in a homey way but with sharp design choices that make each quite special. All ensuites have bath or shower and Etro bath products, and all have cable TV and free Wi-fi throughout the hotel.

A small but perfectly acceptable sauna and steam bath area form the spa facilities.

The Georg won’t be for everybody (and there wouldn’t be room anyway), but for a discerning couple with creative taste buds, the Georg represents a stylish and comfortable option and one that adds something a little special to the already rich fabric of Lech’s accommodation portfolio.
