Ski Lifts in Heiligenblut
Heiligenblut Grossglockner, which markets itself as ‘The Top of Austria’, has 12 ski lifts (including the Snowland lift exclusively for ski school) but the ski area feels bigger than that statistic would suggest because of the topography and the long runs.
Grossglockner Heiligenblut Ski Lifts
The two-stage Rossbach gondola goes all the way from the village of Heiligenblut to Schareck from where the 3.2-kilometre Fleisstal ski route connects with Fleissalm. From the gondola middle station, there is an entertaining way of reaching Fleissalm via the somewhat eccentric Tunnelbahn Fleissalm – a gondola ‘train’ through a tunnel. For those not staying in the village, there is free parking available at the middle station.
The ski lifts carry up to 13,650 riders per hour. When visited in late Feb and early March, waiting times were never an issue and the slopes were pleasantly uncrowded. Lifts open at 9 am and the last lift closes at 4 pm
