Ski Resorts in New Jersey
New Jersey’s ski resorts are clustered in the northern part of the state. Mountain Creek is by far the largest and most popular while tiny Campgaw is a fantastic learning hill.
While New Jersey once had over a half dozen ski resorts, that number has shrunk to just two with the closing of Hidden Valley in 2013. Mountain Creek is the most popular as it is the closest major ski resort to Manhattan. The major advantage New Jersey ski resorts have over practically all of their competitors in New York and Pennsylvania is proximity. Both Mountain Creek and Campgaw are within an easy drive of millions of New York metro area skiers.
Mountain Creek
Mountain Creek is one of the most popular ski resorts for skiers making a day from in and around New York City. With four distinc mountain peaks and a respectable 1,040′ vertical drop just over an hour from Manhattan, it’s not hard to see why Mountain Creek is popular
Campgaw
Campgaw offers beginner and intermediate skiing on a 270′ drop. Tubing is also a popular winter activity at Campgaw as the resort offers 10 tubing lanes and 2 lifts.
