Accommodation in St Anton am Arlberg
St Anton has several luxury hotels with excellent wellness facilities and an increasing number of designer boutique hotels. There are also plenty of bed and breakfast guesthouses, chalets and apartments to choose from. The nearby village of St Christoph is much smaller and quieter but also has high-quality hotels in a pretty setting.
St Anton Dorf, the centre of St. Anton, is pedestrianised and is the most convenient place to stay for easy access to the main ski lifts, ski schools and numerous shops, restaurants and bars. It’s also a short walk from the railway station and the main bus station. Stadl and Oberdorf are as much as a 10-20 minute’ walk uphill from the village centre but the ski bus service is good and free, and ski rental shops in the village centre typically offer storage facilities saving you from having to walk in ski boots carrying ski gear.
Nasserein and St Jakob are 5-20 mins walk east from the centre of St Anton and also served by the regular free ski bus service. Nasserein also has high-speed lifts. St Christoph is a picturesque hamlet 7km West of St Anton on the road to Stuben and Zurs. Connected to the main ski area by a high-speed chairlift, St Christoph is at a snow-sure altitude of 1800m and ideal for couples and families seeking comfortable accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of St Anton, but with easy access to the ski area.
Hotels in St Anton
The 5-star Raffl’s St. Antonerhof, the only 5-star hotel in St Anton, is in the centre of town. It’s a 5 to 10-minute walk to the Galzigbahn but the hotel has its own shuttle if you don’t want the exercise. The best-known 4-star hotels are Hotel Schwarzer Adler, the Alte Post and the Sport Hotel but there are many others including designer boutique hotels like Pepi’s Skihotel, Hotel Rundeck, Hotel Mooser and many more. Cheaper but highly rated 3 star hotels include Hotel Garni Schindler, Hotel Kristal and Hotel Sailer in the centre of the village and Hotel Nassereinerhof in Nasserein.

Ski Chalets in St Anton
St Anton am Arlberg has approximately 100 ski chalets ranging in size from two to 20 bedrooms (sleeping 4 to 40 guests) and available for booking on either a catered or self-catered basis; mostly via well-established UK tour operators with flights and transfers included.
There are a few chalets and chalet apartments in the centre of St Anton, but most are located either in the Nasserein area (served by high-speed gondola to Gampen) or in the elevated Gastig and Oberdorf areas, which overlook the Rendl ski area. The Nasserein area, which has been gaining popularity as a chalet location since the opening of the new gondola, is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of St Anton, whereas the chalets of Gastig and Oberdorf are a little further away and also located up a fairly steep hill. Guests staying in these elevated areas can usually leave their skis and boots in the ski hire shops situated close to the main St Anton lifts making the journey to and from their chalets much easier.
The chalets in St Anton generally provide excellent value accommodation compared to the high quality 4-star hotels dominating the resort centre. However, there is a growing number of luxury chalets where the standard of accommodation, quality of the food and personalised service now rivals even the smartest hotels. While the majority of St Anton ski chalets holidays are catered and aimed at the British ski market (flight and transfer included), many chalets are available for independent travellers, self-catered or catered, and can be booked by specialist travel agents.
Hotels in St Christoph
St Christoph’s most internationally renowned and luxurious hotel is the 5 star Hotel Arlberg Hospiz . This has one of the most famous restaurants in the Alps: adults relish the gourmet food and extensive wine list, but for children the highlight tends to be the slide down to the toilets.
Slightly less expensive 4 star and 3 star hotels include the family-friendly Hotel Maiensee (4 star). the Alpenhotel St Christoph (4 stars, ski-in, ski-our, good previous customer reviews), or Hotel Ski Austria (3 star, situated next to the lift, good but very Austrian sauna). The Arlberg Hospiz also has a cheaper ‘sister hotel’ (effectively an annex) next door to it, called the The Hospiz Alm Residenzen. The 3-star Gasthof Valluga is about a 3 minute walk from the lift, but if you don’t fancy trudging that far in ski boots carrying your skis, it can arrange overnight storage in a ski hire shop next to the lift. Both the hotel and its restaurant get exceptionally high ratings from previous guests.
