Banff offers a good choice of accommodations including 3-star to 5-star hotels, motels, lodges, B&B guesthouses and a hostel. There’s a similarly good choice of hotels at Lake Louise whereas Sunshine, not really a village, has just one property.

A small village with just a few bars, Lake Louise does not compare with Banff (50 minutes away) for evening entertainment, but wins hands down for easy access to great skiing and offers a choice of hotels in and around Lake Louise village, just a 10-minute drive from the ski area. At the top end of the spectrum in the centre of Lake Louise is the luxurious Post Hotel & Spa Lake Louise featuring one of the best wine cellars in Canada. Ski Accommodation in Sunshine Village
Sunshine’s only accommodation is the on-mountain, ski-in, ski-out Sunshine Mountain Lodge, so you can literally fall out of bed and be on a chairlift in minutes, but there’s little to do apart from skiing and snowsports, as after the last gondola there is no way of getting back up to your hotel.
