Getting to Kicking Horse is not as difficult as many first time visitors expect. Kicking Horse is located next to the Rockies in the Dogtooth Range of the Purcell Mountains approximately 10 miles from Golden, British Columbia.
Nearest Airport to Kicking Horse
The most convenient destination for international travellers is to fly into Calgary, two and a half hours away by road. The Canadian Rockies International Airport is located in Cranbrook, British Columbia and has regular services from the US on Delta Airlines connecting in Salt Lake City.
There are also shuttle services available from Calgary International Airport (2 hours 30 minutes) and Banff (1 hour 30 minutes). There is a regular shuttle to and from Golden to the resort base during mornings and afternoons.

Driving to Kicking Horse
The drive to Golden is along the Trans Canada Highway, from the west through Revelstoke and Roger Pass or from the East through Calgary and Banff. Both directions offer stunning views of the Rocky Mountain’s landscapes. Care should be taken driving along the steep switchbacks of Rogers Pass, particularly in challenging weather.
