Located to the east of Lake Annecy, La Clusaz and neighbouring Le Grand Bornand are easy to reach from Geneva airport, which is just 69km away. Chambery Airport (77km away) and Lyon Airport (150km) are the other main gateway airports for international visitors The closest airport, however, is Annecy Airport which does not have any international flights but has services to and from Paris. It is just 30 kms away from La Clusaz.
From Geneva Airport, the drive to La Clusaz takes between one and one and a half hours, but there can be traffic jams at peak times at weekends because La Clusaz is a popular weekend resort – with good reason.

Airport Bus Services to La Clusaz and Grand Bornand
Aeroski runs a not very frequent public bus service from Geneva airport to La Clusaz. Most of the departures are on Saturdays. See timetable details here.
There is also a bus service to La Clusaz from Lyon airport but you have to change (and wait) at Annecy. The first leg of the journey from the airport is provided by Ouibus (also called BlaBlaBus) – see timetable here.
Airport Car Hire / Car Rental for La Clusaz
La Clusaz is reasonably compact and there are good buses both inside the resort and linking it to Le Grand Bornand and St Jean de Sixt. But if your accommodation is an unusually long way from the lift or you want to visit other nearby ski areas like Megeve and Flaine , or you just want to stay flexible, renting a car can make sense.
Getting to Annecy by Rail then Bus or Taxi to La Clusaz
The train station at Annecy (30kms away) has SNCF and TGV services to the rest of France and beyond. There is a reasonably good bus service to the centre of la Clusaz if you’re not in a hurry, or you can book a private transfer online to take you direct from the station to your accommodation through Ski-Lifts.
Driving to La Clusaz
Driving to the resort is another option. It’s one of the easiest French ski resorts to reach from the UK, Northern France and Northern Europe. Journey time from London is between 10 and 12 hours.
