Accommodation in Courmayeur
Courmayeur offers a wide range of hotels and apartments near the centre of town. Accommodation is also available in the suburbs of Dolonne, Entreves and La Palud, which can have quicker access to the slopes.
Where to Stay in Courmayeur?
Most of the hotels and apartments are in the centre of Courmayeur or just to the north of it. This is a pretty part of town, with lots of nice bars, restaurants and shops, but not close to the main ski lifts.
Some of the smarter hotels provide courtesy shuttle buses to take their guests to and from the lifts; others depend on the ski bus service which is reasonably efficient. Or skiers simply walk to the Dolonne bubble or the Courmayeur cable car; one of them should be within a 15-minute walk, and there is no need to walk in ski boots because there are ski rental shops and storage facilities at the base stations and up the mountain.
If being next to a lift is very important, you should consider staying in the southern end of town because that is where the Courmayeur Cable Car, the resort’s main lift, departs from. Continuing southwards beyond the lift is the suburb of Verrand where apartments and hotels tend to be a bit cheaper.
The suburb of Dolonne, on the resort’s western edge, has a lift – the Telecabina Dolonne. Some of the accommodation here can be skied down to at the end of the day in good snow conditions. For true ski-in and ski-out accommodation, there is also one hotel up the mountain near the ski school meeting point at Plan Checrouit, the Super G Hotel.
Entreves and La Palud are two outlying suburbs about 3km to the north of the centre of Courmayeur, and 10 to 15 minutes away on the ski-bus. On the western edge of Entreves is the Val Veny lift which gives access to the main Courmayeur ski area via the Pre de Pascal sector; and about 500m away, on the border of Entreves and La Pallud, is the Monte Bianco Skyway which accesses the separate off-piste skiing at Punta Helbronner. This lift makes Entreves and La Palud popular with freeride enthusiasts, but both villages are much quieter at night than Courmayeur.

In Entreves, the 4-star Auberge De La Maison is within 350m of both the Val Veny lift and Helbronner SkyWay and well-located for quick access by car to Chamonix, so is particularly suitable for off-piste skiers who like to combine luxury with hard skiing.
