The Skiwiland Early Learning Centre offers licensed childcare for children aged between 3 months and 5 years. The centre divides children into two groups based on age. Children under the age of three are enrolled into Kiwi Kids, described as “safe and fun activity based childcare on the mountain, including snow play time”.
Children who have had their third birthday will be able to join the Skiwi Kids group, offering children a “fun and rewarding” experience, with a choice of whether or not to ski. Supervised care, tuition and ski and boot rental is included in the package for those wishing to ski, whilst those not ready to ski will play indoors. Both groups offer morning and/or afternoon sessions.
The Coronet Peak Snowsports School, which employs 120 full-time instructors, also run programmes for older children, up to the age of 17. Children aged between 6-12 years old will be entered into the Kea Club, though snowboarders must be at least eight years old, whilst children aged 13 and over will be enrolled into the Shredders group. The groups are further divided up based on ability, ensuring small numbers and attentive tuition.
