Hotels in Laax and Flims

The 5-star hotel Waldhaus Flims Alpine Grand Hotel & Spa is housed in a restored and modernised Belle Epoque building dating back to 1877. The 3000 m² spa includes an outdoor- and indoor pool, a natural swimming pond, a steam bath, several saunas, treatment rooms, a luxurious private spa suite and a modern 24-hour fitness centre. The hotel is not ideally suited for skiers being about half a mile from the Films lift but the hotel has its shuttle bus to take skiers to and from the lift.

Close by, and in a similar good-looking Belle Epoque building is the highly-rated 4-star Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof. It too has a shuttle bus to take skiers to the lift.

In contrast, the 4-star Hide Flims Hotel and Hillside Hotel Flims in Flims and the  Signinahotel in Laax don’t need any shuttles because they are both close to the lifts and in good snow conditions, and skiers can ski back to them.

Most of the 3-star hotels are good but located a bus ride away from the lifts. The two that are within easy walking distance to the lifts are the trendy Riders Hotel and the Bündnerhaus in Laax, which can be returned to on skis. Over in Flims, the T3 Hotel Mira Val is either a long walk (approx 550m/10 mins) or a short bus ride from the lift.

For skiers with a more restricted budget and the desire to burn the candle at both ends the 2-star Arena Lodge in Flims is ideal. It’s within 100m of the lifts allowing quick access to the slopes and you can also return to it on skis, but it also has a nightclub inside the building with a resident DJ. If that sounds a little noisy, the Hotel Restaurant Bellevue is in the centre of Flims, only 150m from the lift. It has no official stars but is very well-rated by guests.

Apartments in Laax and Flims

For self-catering or flexi-catering, the Rocks Resort Apart Hotel is located by the cable car station in Laax, and surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars so there are plenty of options if you don’t want to cook. You can also ski (or board) back to it.
