Matterhorn Focus Rooms & Suites
Hotel Matterhorn Focus has 30 spacious rooms and suites, most of which have balconies with uninterrupted views of the Matterhorn or Zermatt. Choose from 3 standard doubles, seven superior double rooms with Zermatt view, 10 deluxe doubles with Matterhorn view, three family rooms (45m²) with Matterhorn view, four small suites (50m²) with Matterhorn view, three large suites (70 m²) also with Matterhorn view. All rooms and suites have en-suite showers or baths, hair dryers, dressing gowns and slippers, cable TV, radio, safe, Wi-Fi and works of art by Heinz Julen to add that individual touch. Some suites include a free-standing bath, fireplace and kitchen. Up to two children aged 2-5 can stay free of charge in a double room occupied by their parents, paying the full rate.

As for culinary delights, the Hotel Matterhorn Focus is one of a new breed of popular designer bed and breakfast (Garni) hotels that do not serve lunch or dinner. Guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast in the hotel’s stylish breakfast restaurant and make their arrangements for lunch and dinner, which is a bonus given that Zermatt has many fine restaurants, including some of the best mountain restaurants in the Alps.

The Hotel Matterhorn Focus conference room (52m²) is fully equipped with the latest PC/DVD/Video and TV communications equipment for conferences and corporate events and has flexible seating arrangements for up to 40 people. The conference room is also available for banquets, drinks receptions and private parties. There’s also a seminar room (16m²) for smaller meetings.
Skiing in Zermatt
Zermatt is one of the leading resorts in Switzerland and among the best ski resorts in the world. There’s good skiing and snowboarding for all levels of ability, including off-piste. The Hotel Matterhorn Focus is closest to Klein-Matterhorn cable car and not far from Gornergrat- and Sunnegga-Rothorn stations, which are about a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
Getting to the Hotel Matterhorn Focus, Zermatt
Zermatt is easily reached by train from Geneva and Zurich airports. The best route is via Visp and the Matterhorn-Gotthard Bahn, with stunning views of the Walliser mountains. Alternatively, you can drive from Bern (260km A12/A9), Geneva (237km A9) or Zurich (360km A1/A9) airports as far as Tasch (6km from car-free Zermatt), then park in multi-story or outdoor car parks then take the shuttle train (every 20 minutes) up to Zermatt.
