Alta Lodge offers a throwback ski vacation experience – no TV’s to be found in these guest rooms; the world-famous Sitzmark Club ski bar provides the entertainment.
The ski in ski out Alta Lodge is perhaps the most authentic “old Alta” ski lodge of the five original ski lodges scattered across the base of the ski resort. The lodge is a throwback to the days when ski hotels provided a warm bed and a good time. The Alta Lodge has a casual atmosphere more akin to staying in a good friend’s ski house than a hotel.
The lobby fireplace is a wonderful place to relax and read a book. The center of social activity is undoubtedly the Sitzmark Club – one of America’s great hotel bars. With its wood-burning fireplace and large windows looking out towards the ski resort have been hosting guests since 1939.
Hotel rooms range from standard rooms to suites to ski dorms. All are appointed in a simple, uncluttered style.
