Accommodation in Aspen Snowmass
Whether star-spotting or on a budget, there are over 50 hotels in the Aspen area and numerous other options including condominiums, private homes, chalets and bed & breakfasts.
When deciding where to stay, it’s also a good idea to decide what kind of vacation you want. If you want to be slopeside, think about which mountain you want to ski most and search there first. Snowmass has the most ski in/out options, followed by Highlands and Buttermilk. There is, of course, slopeside lodging available near the Gondola and Lift 1A in downtown Aspen as well. Although there are free shuttles to get between each of the mountains and downtown Aspen, it can take up to 30 minutes between destinations, especially during peak traffic hours.
If you decide you want to stay in Downtown Aspen due to the proximity to shopping and dining, there is no shortage of luxury hotels and residences in the core – the part of downtown that is within walking distance to everything. If you have a car and don’t mind driving, you can widen your search to include down Valley areas such as Basalt and Carbondale – there may be more affordable accommodations here as well.
Wherever you decide to stay, and whatever your budget, make sure to book early as this area sells out quickly.
