Learn to Ski in Keystone
The adult and child ski schools at River Run, and at the Mountain House, are very accessible to the villages and to the mountains.
Ski school hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The minimum age for young children joining a class is three years, and children are fully supervised in ski school if a full-day lesson is booked. Half-day lessons are available (but these don’t include lunch). Youngsters aged two months to 12 years can be looked after at the Children’s Daycare Center.
Some advanced ski school classes take groups to the outermost edges of the resort. There they practice tree and powder skiing, jumps and more. The Keystone Resort Nordic Center offers telemark clinics daily for all ages and abilities, as well as rental equipment for that discipline. Classic and skate Nordic ski instruction and equipment are available as well. Full Moon Tours takes skiers to high points around the resort to view the full moon-part of Keystone’s unique night-time ambience.
Keystone have the women’s specific program called Betty Fest… Girls just want to have fun and pink boas. Keystone’s Betty Fest is a chance for women to get together on and off the hill. The two-day fest includes extensive on-hill training, video analysis, yoga and discussions about nutrition, women’s specific concerns and equipment. It also includes pink boas and lots of laughs. The two-day sessions are recommended for skiers comfortable on green terrain and snowboarders of any level. One-day camps are available, as well.
