Getting to Mammoth Mountain

Mammoth’s closest international airports are Reno and Los Angeles. Mammoth Shuttle and the Sierra Express taxi companies offer transfers.

Mammoth dominates the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in central California. It’s quite remote compared to other resorts and a long way from any international airports. The nearest international airports are Reno and Los Angeles. Reno is 170 miles (274 km) from Mammoth and takes three hours by car along the scenic Highway 395. Two taxi companies offer transfers: Mammoth Shuttle and the Sierra Express. Los Angeles Airport is 323 miles (524 km) from Mammoth and takes five hours by car. There are no rail connections.
